Spring Inspiration

https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/rmdjewellery

Spring is a beautiful time of year, flowers and pastel colours everywhere. Its a lovely time to get inspired, spring clean and shake off the heat of summer and get moving as the weather cools without the cold of winter.

I thought I would share some of the things that inspire me. From the pastels colours everywhere to flowers and nature. Great cooking ideas to DIY projects that I plan to try with my daughter over Easter and beautiful prints to freshen your walls and inspire you every day.

Itsy Bitsy Garden Terrariums

I love glass terrariums, I think there is something very beautiful about a miniature glass garden and most importantly, low maintenance as I most definitely do not have a green thumb and love plants that do not require alot of TLC.

Unfortunately, all my favourite creative terrarium makers are overseas and customs do not allow for the shipping of live plant materials into Australia from other Countries. Alas!

So, I went looking for a DIY Project to make my own and this is what I found on Instructables, a great little DIY Project site that I will be revisiting on a regular basis for some great inspiration.

So now I also need to find the supplies listed in the project so I am off to Bunnings this week with my fingers crossed, although I am not sure I hold out hope for such cute little glass globes but maybe I can find something just as lovely.

For those who are not feeling creative, or indeed are lucky to not be restricted by customs I have included some of my favourite ready made terrariums from Etsy below and a link to the stores that sell them.

Happy Mini Gardening!!

P.S. Hopefully I can post an update showing my finished Terrarium one day soon.

Pretty Peonies that Never Die

http://www.craftberrybush.com/2014/03/crepe-peony-tutorial.html
I saw this amazing tutorial on Craftberry Bush recently and just had to share, they look great, almost life like and the best part, will never die. Of course I would image they need to be kept away from water, we have all seen what water can do to crepe paper.

I love fresh flowers, but often leave them too long, getting that sad droopy drawers look as they die and many silk flowers look a little fake and those that don't are often expensive.

This is fun, inexpensive and a great project to do with your children. I did this with my 12 year old daughter last weekend, of course it took us a few trials before ours looked good, and I can't say they are perfect, but the materials are so inexpensive we kept going until we had a lovely little bunch. Now I have an excuse to buy a new vase to put them in.

Head on over to Craftberry Bush's blog get this great DIY tutorial
